LED Video Walls
Installation Process
The installation of a LED video wall is an end-to-end project, starting with a detailed specification and design phase, followed by installation, commissioning and ongoing support. The process begins with preparing the wall or structure that will support the LED screen. It must be completely flat and able to accommodate a mounting frame.
Afterwards, the LED screen is built up, starting from the bottom and working row by row. The chassis is then wired together for signal before the LED panels are connected and fixed into place. The power supply for the LED wall is a critical consideration; a Type C circuit breaker is recommended for LED lighting as these screens can draw a high current inrush when initially turned on.
Following the physical setup, the LED driver must be informed about the screen’s configuration and the specification of each panel. The LED driver can then accept input signals from various sources such as computers, digital signage players, or TVs. The panels are factory calibrated, which eliminates the need for further on-site calibration. Depending on the LED wall, manual brightness adjustments may be possible, or a light-sensing device can be used to automatically modulate the screen’s brightness based on ambient light.
Finally, there is the critical aspect of after-installation support, which should be consistently available to ensure the optimal performance and longevity of the LED video wall.
